Providing a warm lunch in Veliko Turnovo Municipality

The implementation of a project under the Procedure BG05FMOP001-3.002 “Providing hot meal -2016” in support of persons from Veliko Turnovo Municipality, will enable the social service “Public Canteen”, funded by “Social protection” Fund to develop further by ensuring long-durability of the activity. Considering the demographic tendency in Republic of Bulgaria, related to the rapid ageing of the population, an increased number of let-alone people and people with disparities, aiming to improve the life quality, providing support to the most vulnerable group of people by satisfying their needs in the delivery of meals, the necessity of increasing the scope of the launched community social activities has been growing. The Beneficiaries of the provided “Public Canteen” service can be persons of the following groups: • Persons and families eligible to receive monthly benefits as regards to the rules and provisions stipulated under art.9 RISAA (Regulations for the Implementation of the Social Assistance Act); • Persons with reported loss of income and recipients without relatives to look after them, registered respectively at the Social Assistance Directorate; • Persons living alone and recipients eligible to receive differentiated minimal pensions; • Homeless people and Street children. Eligible as beneficiaries can be persons from other target groups, in Decree № RD-07-1 from 4th April 2016 issued by the MLSP, as well as target groups elaborated in the Guidelines under the present procedure. In terms of the present procedure, the following activities will be implemented: Define the target groups, Purchase of meal products, Delivery of hot meals, Provide supplementary measures. Providing the social service “Public Canteen” on the territory of Veliko Turnovo Municipality will be delivered by “Home Social Patronage” unit /complex of social service provision of the “Center for providing social services”, secondary level spending unit of V. Turnovo Municipality.
