“Hot Meal for the Residents in Need of the Municipality of Zlatograd”

The Municipality of Zlatograd is a municipality located away from the big administrative centers in the country which in combination with the negative demographic trends faces the local authorities with the necessity of implementing measures for developing social services targeted at the increasing number of vulnerable groups of people with proven lack of income and relatives to take care of them; persons and families living alone and receiving minimum pensions, old people for whom it is impossible to serve themselves which constitute the majority of the population in the smaller towns or villages. Given the fact that the population in our municipality is permanently aging, the rate of natural increase is negative and that the number of old people is increasing, it is necessary to pay more special attention to taking care of the vulnerable groups and to providing social services which meet their needs. The policy of the Municipality is targeted at the development of services in the community and at home which can replace the institutional type of care.In the Annual Plans for development of the social services in the Municipality for 2016 and 2017, as well as in the Strategy for development of the social services on the territory of the Municipality of Zlatograd for the period 2016-2020, necessity for delivering Hot Meal has been identified. The realization of this project proposal shall ensure help and support to the persons and families in need and shall satisfy the necessity of such a social service which is registered in the strategic documents. With this project proposal, the Municipality of Zlatograd shall upgrade and continue the social service “Public Dining-room” so that all target groups for which there is registered necessity are covered.The activities which shall be performed within this project are providing hot meal at the specified place which can be easily accessed by any of the 120 users on the territory of the Municipality of Zlatograd.
