Communal dining

The implementation of the project is aimed at the most vulnerable groups in Silistra Municipality. The project will be implemented under the Operational Programme "Human Resources Development" and the operation of direct grant aid. Within the Project, a Communal Dining will be opened with a capacity of 200 users. The users of the social service will be provided with hot lunch consisting of soup, main dish and bread. The products for the warm lunch will be purchased after tenders for choosing a supplier in accordance with the national legislation and in compliance with the principles of openness and transparency. The food for the users of the communal dining will be prepared and portioned at Home Respite Care (Home social patronage) in Silistra, which has long-standing experience in providing a similar social service. The users will be offered a diverse weekly menu, a balanced nutrition of the target groups will be insured, all requirements for food safety and national standards and norms for nutrition will be duly met. Food will be delivered at the homes of people with moving disability. During the whole period of the project implementation, concomitant measures are going to be realized, such as informing and consulting the users about the possibilities to use social and administrative services. As a result of the project implementation, 200 people in Silistra Municipality will be receiving warm lunch for 13 months, their access to social services will improve and measures for reduction of poverty and social isolation will be ensured.
