Hot meal for the people in need in Simeonovgrad Municipality

This project’s goal is to reduce the number of people living in poverty. We aim to help those people overcome their basic material deprivation by providing them with a free hot meal. We’ll create a public diner for Simeonovgrad Municipality and we’ll also open several stations in other rural areas in the region where food will be distributed in disposable containers. The social service ‘Public diner’ will be provided by a licensed distributor. The award procedure for the management of the social service will be implemented subject to the Social Assistance Law and the Regulations on its implementation. According to the official statement of the Head of the Social Assistance department in Dimitrovgard the number of businesses eligible for the contract are 1632, considering that the numbers are subject to change. This determined the selection of Simeonovgrad Municipality from 1000 persons for support until 28.02.2018. to 910 people as of 01.03.2018 for support. The preparation of hot meals will be carried out by a registered service provider. Meals will be packaged in disposable containers and will be transported in specialized vehicles to any meal station in the municipality. Distribution of food will take place from 11 to 13 after the consumers have signed in the prepared in advance lists which include their personal data. We’ll provide feedback forms to the consumers as well. In addition to the food distribution we’ll also offer accompanying measures to reduce social exclusion and/or deal with emergency social situations in an emancipating and sustainable way. Those measures include individual or group counseling and assistance with using social and/or administrative services to support access to health and education, to manage family budgets, a healthy and balanced diet, as well as individual or group counseling in response to specific needs and problems of the consumers.
