"Provision of warm lunch in municipality of Ihtiman"

The project is aimed at the socially disadvantaged sections of the population of the municipality of Ihtiman, the retired people with low pensions, people with disabilities, unemployed people without income, as well as those with low income who do not have enough money to cope alone during the severe winter months. It contributes to the achievement of the general objective of the Operational Program, which is to reduce the number of people living in poverty by means of food support, with a view to overcoming mainly material deprivation. For the population of the municipality existsa tendency forreduction the number of inhabitants inworking age at the expense of older people, increasingnumber of the Roma population, rising unemployment among them, as well as its ever-lowering social status. The disclosure of the ‘warm lunch’ social service for the benefit of disadvantaged people is part of the straightforward social policy that the Town Officeconducts in support of vulnerable groups of its population. This service would help a large number of people in the target groups to subsist throughthe winter season and it is the only opportunity for their physical survival. 65 persons, who are representatives of the main target groups defined in the provisions of Decree RD-07-1 of 04.04.2016 of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, will take advantage of the social service ‘warm lunch’ for a period of 14 months - from 01.10.2017- 30.04.2018, from 01.10.2018 - 30.04.2019, from 01.10.2019-31.12.2019
