"HOT LUNCH IN CONDITIONS OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF POPOVO"

The project proposal "HOT LUNCH IN CONDITIONS OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF POPOVO" envisages to provide a hot lunch to 150 consumers from the town of Popovo and from the small settlements in the municipality, representatives of the main target groups, according to the application conditions. , for a period of 4 months - from 04.01.2021 until 27.04.2021, who due to poverty and prolonged social isolation, in the conditions of the declared emergency situation, arising from the need to limit the spread of COVID-19, are in difficulty to provide for themselves. The implementation of this project will be part of the purposeful social policy that the Municipality of Popovo develops in support of individuals and families, subject to monthly assistance, persons with proven lack of income and relatives to care for them, single people and families receiving minimum pensions, vagrants and homeless people. There is a Home Social Patronage at the Social Services Institution Unit in the Municipality of Popovo, located in the town of Popovo. DSP-Popovo is a municipal activity, which is financed from the municipal budget as the material base it uses is municipal property. It will prepare and provide hot food during the working days of the month, which will be individually packaged in disposable utensils and will be delivered to the addresses of the target group with their own specialized transport, subject to all anti-epidemic measures. In the context of the pandemic emergency, the provision of a hot lunch has proved to be a significant aid, as it provides a real opportunity for the poorest and most vulnerable people to continue to have food, on the one hand, and on the other. they also receive at home when anti-epidemic measures require it. in addition, the Municipality of Popovo will propose and provide accompanying measures in accordance with the anti-epidemic measures and the specific needs of the people in these conditions.
