"Hot lunch in the conditions of the pandemic of COVID-19 in the municipality of Elena".

The current situation caused by the spread of COVID-19 and its economic and social effects to various public sectors has put social protection systems to serious trials. The main systems of society - economy, labor market, education, health, pension, social protection system are largely influenced by the pandemic spread of the virus, which requires measures at national and respectively at municipal level. The state of emergency situation caused direct negative socio-economic consequences, disrupting economic stability, creating insecurity in society due to job losses. It led to an increase in the growth of unemployment; difficulties were created in the functioning of small and medium-sized businesses. The prospects for a lot of families are unclear; poverty and lack of income are deepening. Besides the lack of food, due to the increasing poverty in the context of emergency anti-epidemic measures, the people who are in need have limited access to provide food by themselves. Vulnerable groups are exposed to particular risks and more difficulties due to the emergency measures introduced to limit the spread of the virus. In the current situation of the pandemic, the provision of a hot lunch will be a significant aid, because it will provide a real opportunity for the poorest and most vulnerable people to have meal, on the one hand and on the other, they will be able to get it at home when the anti-epidemic measures require it. The project proposal is planned and prepared in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the country and respectively in the municipality of Elena, and will provide support to meet the basic food needs of people who need social protection to the highest degree.
