Providing a hot lunch in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic in the municipality of Samuil

This project proposal aims to improve the quality of life of themost affected individuals and families in the COVID 19 pandemicand it’s consequences, by meeting basic food needs and additionalsupport for 170 people who, due to poverty and prolonged socialisolation, find it difficult to provide feed themselves. The work in the Municipality of Samuil on the provision of hotfood for lunch started successfully at the end of 2009, with thelaunch of the „Public Dining“ Project throughout the country. From then until 2015, with the preliminary preparation onlyduring the summer months, for which no funding is provided, the project is successfully implemented. Since 2015, the provision of hot food for lunch has been carried out under the Project "Providing hot lunch in the Municipality of Samuil" under theOperational Program for Food and / or Basic Material Assistanceof the Fund for European Assistance to the most needy persons, to 155 users.Samuil municipality currently provides hot lunch for 170 consumers throughout it’s territory under the target program "Hot lunch at home in an extraordinary situation 2020".Considering the fact that the need for the service has been constant over the years, in this project proposal the Municipality of Samuil bets providing hot lunch to 170 users from all settlements in Samuil Municipality. The food will be prepared intwo kitchens with dining rooms with addresses: Vladimirovtsi village, 4A Vasil Levski Str. And Samuil village, 25 Cherni VrahStr. The lunch will be provided to the consumer's home by motor vehicle, meeting the requirements for carrying out the respectiveactivity. When providing food to the representatives of the target groups, it is planned to provide accompanying measures by thespecialists of municipal administration Samuil, Center for SocialRehabilitation and Integration, Vladimirovtsi village, Center for public support in the village of Samuil and also consultants underthe Childhood without Borders Project.
