3-1 - Hot lunch in the conditions of the pandemic of COVID-19 in the municipality of Rila

The current situation related to the spread of COVID-19 and its economic and social effects on vulnerable groups put the municipality at serious trials. All major activities are affected to a large extent, by the degree of pandemic spread of the virus, which requires measures at the local level for resource mobilization, stabilization, and recovery. The extraordinary situation gave rise to direct negative socio-economic consequences by violating economic stability and brought uncertainty to society due to the closure of workplaces. It led to an increase in unemployment, difficulties were created in the operation of small and medium-sized businesses. The prospects for many households are unclear, poverty and lack of income are deepening. After the completion of the financing under the Operational Program "Food" on 30.04.2020, Rila Municipality has launched a project to provide a hot lunch, funded by the program "Hot lunch at home in the conditions of the emergency situation 2020". In the conditions of the pandemic emergency, the provision of a hot lunch proved to be of significant assistance, because through it there is a real opportunity for the poorest and most vulnerable people to continue to have food and to be able to get it at home, because anti-epidemic measures require it. The project is planned to cover 130 persons from the target groups to receive food on working days during the time of implementation of the activity.
