"3-1-Warm lunch in the conditions of the pandemic of COVID-19 in the Municipality of Kardzhali"

The realisation of this project is part of the purposeful social policy implemented by the Municipality of Kardzhali.The project proposal is aimed at providing support to meet the basic food needs of people in need of social protection in the highest degree under the conditions of the pandemic of COVID-19.The implementation of the project will contribute to achieving the overall goal of the operational program related to the reduction of the number of people living in poverty by providing food for the people most affected by the COVID-19pandemic and its consequences.The project proposal will create an opportunity: to complement the complex national measures taken in response to the crisis; to build on the projects and programmes implemented to ensure a warm lunch and to extend the range to the people most in need. In the context of the pandemic,the provision of a warm lunch represents a real opportunity for the poorest and most vulnerable people to continue to have food and, if necessary, to be able to receive it at home when anti-epidemic measures so require. The activities to be implemented are:1.Defining the target groups; 2. Preparation of a warm lunch; 3.Provision of warm lunches; 4. Implementation of accompanying measures. The project plans to provide a warm lunch for a period of 4 months–from18.01.2021.until 27.04.2021, 2100 users from the Municipality of Kardzhali,representatives of the target groups,determined in accordance with the objectives of operation "3.1-Warm lunch in conditions of the pandemic of COVID-19".The warm lunch will be prepared and delivered through an external contractor selected after a procedure under the PPA. A warm lunch will be provided on the working days of the month packed in individual disposable buckets.The preparation and delivery of the warm lunch will be organized according to the conditions of the procedure. Consumer selection will be made in a transparent, objective and fair manner and tailored to eligibility requirements.
