Support with a hot lunch in the conditions of the pandemic of COVID-19 in the municipality of Dimitrovgrad

In the context of the pandemic emergency, the provision of a hot lunch has proved to be a significant aid, as it provides a real opportunity for the poorest and most vulnerable people to continue to have food, on the one hand, and on the other. they also receive at home when anti-epidemic measures require it. The project envisages activities to provide support to vulnerable people, by preparing and delivering, if necessary, to home, free hot food in an emergency for 71 days. In accordance with the basic principles of the European Pillar of Social Rights, the operation is planned in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the country and provides support to meet the basic food needs of people in need of social protection to the highest degree, namely - persons without income or with low income below the poverty line, persons quarantined - without income or with low income below the poverty line, persons subject to social assistance who are unable to meet their basic living needs. The service will be provided to 530 people living in all settlements of the municipality, who are identified within the target groups, according to the conditions of social isolation arising from the need to limit the spread of COVID-19 and for this purpose will use any sources of information - applications, signals of citizens, open telephone line, information from the Regional Health Inspectorate for persons placed under mandatory quarantine, information from providers of social services and institutions, etc. The planned service for providing a hot lunch at home will be implemented in accordance with the requirements of national legislation, which will ensure a balanced diet of the target group, in compliance with food safety requirements and national standards and norms of nutrition.
