"3.1 - Hot lunch in the conditions of the pandemic of COVID-19 in the Municipality of Loznitsa"

The current project "3.1 - Hot lunch in the conditions of the pandemic of COVID-19 in the Municipality of Loznitsa" will cover 300 people from the municipality for whom food provision is difficult or impossible in the conditions of the pandemic, as well as for the needy. The project aims to reduce the number of people living in poverty by providing a hot lunch for the people most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath. In this regard, the Municipality of Loznitsa requested information from the Social Assistance Directorate in Razgrad regarding the number of one-time benefits granted, as follows: - for the month of December 2020, 867 were granted. one-off heating allowances - for the month of December 2020, 143 families under Art. 9 of the PPZSP. Information is also required from the mayors of settlements for the presence of people in dire need of support. Given the large number of people in need of assistance and people living in poverty, the Municipality of Loznitsa decided to increase the number of 170 users supported so far to 300. To achieve the objectives of the project, the following activities will be implemented: 1. Defining the target groups; 2. Preparing a hot lunch; 3. Providing a hot lunch; 4. Implementation of accompanying measures. For the quality implementation of the project, measures and mechanisms are envisaged to prevent food waste and avoid double funding. The provided hot lunch will be prepared with quality products of proven origin, will meet the statutory requirements for quality and safety in use by end users. The vehicles for transportation of the prepared food meet the requirements and have the necessary certificates from the Food Safety Agency. With the municipality's own transport, the prepared food will be delivered to the homes of the assisted persons.
