System for Career Guidance in School Education

The project is aimed at developing a career gudance system at school level and is being implemented at secondary schools within the country's 28 administrative areas. To develop a working career gudance system, the following steps are needed: * Development, probation and application of model of career gudance at school level; * Creating and applying a model system "School - labour market" in order to help the vocational and professional realisation of high school graduates; * Developing tools for early career gudance to those under threat of dropping out or with special learning needs. Teams of pedagogical specialists will be formed in 42 pilot schools around the country who would test run the career gudance model at school level. The National portal for career gudance (http://orientirane.mon.bg) is being further developed by the addition of a module "School - labour market". It provides information to students seeking any temporary employment or available jobs within their qualification, as well as to companies/ organisations from the local labour market. Tools for early career gudance to those under threat of dropping out are being developed. They target students' interests and preference towards certain careers. Some of these tools are adapted for use by students with special learning needs. Each of these activities - creating a model for career gudance at school level, creating a module "School - labour market" and the development of educational tools, requires training of staff in the pilot schools and career counselors in the Career gudance centers.
