The project is focused on the individual needs of students and the developments of their talents and skills in preferred fields. It aims to increase the success of the students and to keep them in the education system. A mechanism for differential funding of the school programs is developed. It is based on major and complementary indicators related to separate groups: primary, secondary and mainstream; profiled and professional; specialized. The will receive different funding and ratio of the extracurricular activities (EA). The mechanism is an integral part of the current proposal. The following working mechanisms will be created: (1) a mechanism for identification of the individual interests of the students regarding preferred extracurricular activities; (2) a mechanism for identification of the educational deficits of the students and the curricular activities on which they face difficulties; and (3) interschool activities helping to develop and promote the acquired knowledge and skills and to rise the self-confidence. As a result, three groups of EAs will be conducted: (1) EAs according to interests; (2) EAs for overcoming of educational deficits; and (3) interschool EAs. EAs will be supported by representatives of the parent community, municipalities, NGOs, universities and other stakeholders. Thus, the motivation of the students for participation in the educational process will be raised. In addition, a transparency in the selection of EAs will be ensured. The organization of public events will provide to the students an opportunity to show their abilities and skills and to present their achievements in the EAs. The choice and the conduction of the EAs will be regulated through a model for public monitoring that guarantees transparency and publicity of the decision making process. Its implementation includes development of (1) an online platform supporting the choice of EAs, and (2) advisory boards for public monitoring in schools, called “Your class”.
