„Implementation of credits in the vocational education and training (VET) system“

The project is aimed at creating prerequisites for the realization of results-oriented vocational education and training rather than focused on training objectives. For this purpose State educational standards, curricula and training programs in 20 professions based on "units of learning outcomes" will be developed. It is planned that the training will be organized into "modules", which facilitates the horizontal permeability in the system, creates conditions for organizing short training courses (on "part of the profession") according to the needs of individuals, assists the procedures for validation of skills acquired outside the education system. Within the project it is intended to create innovative web-based software and relevant methodology, supporting the project teams that supervise or develop curricula based on State educational standards and in compliance with the Framework Programmes. The involvement of employers' organizations as associates partners aims at identifying the right competencies which must be acquired in VET and which meet the demand of the business for particular categories of employees. Clearly defined "learning outcomes" and modular curricula are a prerequisite to attracting more enterprises and companies in the implementation of "dual training" system. The incorporation of new technologies in training and the different organization of the educational process (the modules combine theory and practice) will contribute to better attractiveness and invite more candidates to participate in vocational education and training. In the training organized in modules and developed in units of learning outcomes it is possible to introduce the credit system, which is a step forward in efforts to convince the higher education institutions to recognize the learning outcomes acquired in VET system.
