Modernization of South-west University "Neofit Rilski" - Blagoevgrad, National Military University "Vasil Levski"- Veliko Tarnovo and Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" - Sofia, in professional directions 5.3 Communication and computer equipment, 4.4 Earth sciences and 3.7 Administration and management

This project was developed jointly by the South-West University “Neofit Rilski” as a Leading Organization, in partnership with the National Military University “Vasil Levski” – Veliko Tarnovo, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and the associated partners – “Nicolae Balcescu” Land Forces Academy Sibiu, Spiru Haret University Bucharest and the Technical University of Civil Engineering – Bucharest. The planned activities are focused on professional areas 5.3 Communication and Computer Engineering, 4.4 Earth Sciences and 3.7 Administration and Management and are based on the results of self-assessments of the three partner universities in the HEInnovate tool. Within the project, the partners shall develop 7 new joint Master’s programs. All of them shall be digitised and, in addition, 5 of them shall be developed in English aiming at education with the associated partners. The Project provides for the establishment of an online training centre, a digital library, a cloud-based platform and a mobile application for learning management, as well as the purchase of all necessary equipment and software for the implementation of a digital content. The project provides for training to improve foreign language and digital skills of teachers, including working with innovative ICT-based educational technologies, as well as outgoing mobility and short-term specialisations abroad, the results of which shall be multiplied by sharing teachers between SWU, NBU [New Bulgarian University] and Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. A unified career centre network shall be established in order to create an effective connection between the universities and the labour market and to achieve an adequate matching between demand and supply of specialists with higher education. It is also envisaged to organise competitions, career exchanges, interest clubs, accelerators and additional courses for students aimed at acquiring “soft” skills and social competence.
