Modernization, digitalization, and internationalization of education in the professional area "Architecture, construction, and geodesy" in the University of Mining and Geology "St. Ivan Rilski".

The project aims to modernize and improve the quality of training in area 5.7. Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Geodesy at the University of Mining and Geology, Sofia through the introduction of a competency model, multidisciplinarity, and interdisciplinarity in students' education, including through the application of digital educational technologies. The project activities will be implemented in partnership with Shumen University "St. Konstantin Preslavski" and the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria. Associated project partners are: • The University of Alabama at Huntsville, USA (www.uah.edu) - Institute of Mining and Specialized Construction at the Technical University of Freiberg, Germany. - Faculty of Mining and Geology at the University of Zagreb, Croatia - Technical University of Riga, Latvia The main activities that will be implemented under the project are: - Development and introduction of joint interdisciplinary master's programs in Satellite and Geoinformation Systems and Information Technologies in Geodesy. with the University of Shumen; - Development and introduction of a new master's program with digital educational content: "Construction, maintenance, and digitalization of underground infrastructure." - Implementation of two joint master's programs in English with the University of Alabama. - Development and implementation of digital educational content. - Training of teachers in digital competencies and English. - Short-term specializations and outbound mobility in the associated partners. - Activities for career counseling and orientation of students. - Training of students in entrepreneurial skills, presentation skills, and digital creativity. - Attracting foreign teachers for incoming teaching mobility, etc. Project duration of 30 months.
