The Richness of Diversity – Inclusive Education for Smart Growth

The project proposal is aimed at providing equal access to the educational environment of children from ethnic and/or marginalized groups. Major emphasis is placed on mastering the Bulgarian language, socialization and intercultural education of children in kindergartens, which are subject of the project. Subject of the current project proposal is the adaptation of children from ethnic and/or marginalized groups to the educational environment, through structured special external conditions – training methods and tools, organizational forms, tasks, didactic games, etc. With the implementation of the activities planned under the project, we aim to achieve the following results: - affirming kindergarten as an attractive place; - guaranteeing the right of equal access to quality education through the integration of Roma children in kindergartens; - awareness of education as a value and a prerequisite for a successful start in life; - improving the linguistic competence of children from ethnic and / or marginalized groups; - prevention of dropping out of compulsory pre-school education and early / premature leaving of the education system; - providing appropriate educational environment for the inclusion of children from ethnic backgrounds including Roma; - inclusion of parents in the multicultural educational environment ; - overcoming negative attitudes based on ethnic origin and cultural identity; - awareness of the benefits of educational integration and acceptance of differences; - achieving a balance between social inclusion and sustainable community development.
