The goal of the project is to guarantee equal start for the children of the region of Sozopol’s schools by providing extra classes in Bulgarian and art, including the parents in the educational process and overcoming the negative stereotypes about the ethnic minorities. To achieve these goals the project includes activities targeting two groups – children and parents of ethnic minorities. Completing the project will help with the solution of problems such as low achievements in school for the children of Roma and Turkish ethnicity, early school dropout, low level of education and limited opportunities for personal, professional and social realization. The planned activities target improvement of the mastery of Bulgarian language, preservation of expression of unique for each ethnic group traditions, inclusion of the parents in the educational process, psychological support for handling problems in the functioning of families and the children’s growth, improvement of the educational equipment, multicultural bonding and tolerance. The planned number of participants for the entire run of the projects is 486 children and 150 parents. As a result of the activities we expect better school preparedness for children of Roma and Turkish ethnicity, expression of the unique for every ethnic group traditions, bonding and tolerance between the ethnic groups living in Solopol region.
