"FRIENDS"project will provide an innovative model of work in a multicultural environment in Iskar Municipality for disdvantaget children aged 3 to 6 years old and their parents – a set of activities that will stimulate the development of individual abilities, skills and knowledge of the children in the future and will help them become valuable citizens with successful professional, social and personal realization. Its implementation will deeperthe knowledge and understanding of diversity of the ethnic groups and cultures within the local community and will provide opportunities for mutual enrichment. Project implementation will improve the learning environment in the kindergartens “Mara Baleva” located in the city of Iskar and “Shtastlivo detstvo” in the village of Dolni Lukovit and will ensure the equal access to good quality educationfor children. New integration-oriented club initiatives, public events and joint activities for children and parents, aiming to promote the mutual understanding and to strengthen the cultural diversity and the ethnic tolerancewill take place. Further education in Bulgarian for children of Roma ethnic will be held in order to equalize the starting positions when entering first grade. New specialized services – diagnostic, consulting and learning activities for children and parents, which will improve the socialization and the educational integration of the children, will be provided within the project. Implementation of the project will add value to the implementation of policies set out in the Municipal Development Plan 2014-2020 and the Action Plan of Iskar Municipality 2015-2020 in pursuance of the Regional strategy for integration of Bulgarian citizens of Roma origin and other citizens in vulnerable social situation, living in a similar to Roma people situation.
