Rainbow of tolerance - partnership for effective integration

The level of risk for normal physical, social and mental development of Roma children is higher. The reasons are low income, high unemployment, poor lifestyle, cultural backwardness, inadequately high or inappropriate education and others.Roma segregation in separate neighborhoods impedes educational integration and reduces their chances of professional and personal realization. This project proposal is aimed at increasing the number of successfully integrated through the education system students and children from marginalized communities, including Roma (specific objective 1 of Priority Axis 3 "Learning environment for active social inclusion").The project proposal is based on the Strategy for Educational Integration of Children and students from ethnic minorities (2015 - 2020), and the included activities are consistent with the National Strategy of the Republic of Bulgaria for Roma Integration (2012-2020). Through the planned activities, the project will develop motivation and learning skills as well as tolerant attitude towards "the different".The introduction of innovative extracurricular activities will ensure access to quality education for children with ethnic minority backgrounds for whom the Bulgarian language is not mother tongue. The coverage of children of school age will improve, as the planned activities to support the management of the Bulgarian language will be implemented. Conditions will be created to prevent early dropout of children from schools, as well as an environment tolerant toward the differences will be built.Achieving the change is inconceivable without the involvement of parents, with which individual work has been planned. This will facilitate for the establishment of partnerships, building attitudes for interaction for the good of the children, as well as helping build an environment tolerant towards the different in elementary schools.
