We can do more together

The project will be implemented in Professional School of engineering and Clothing "Docho Mihaylov" with the support of the Tervel municipality and the School board "Docho Mihaylov" for a period of 28 months. It will involve 128 students from the School. The objective of the project proposal is to create conditions for more successful professional, creative and social realization of students with minority backgrounds (Turks and Roma) from the school by influencing their parents, strengthening their motivation for inclusion in the educational process and improving their access to education. The implementation of the project will raise the attractiveness of the school and will reduce the tendency students from minority backgrounds to dropout from school; it will create conditions for mutual understanding of students from different ethnic groups and will teach them tolerance. The target groups are: 108 students from the school from ethnic minorities, who are or are at risk of falling into a state of exclusion from education due to various difficulties of cultural and linguistic nature; 20 parents from ethnic minorities, which prevent their children from regularly attending school. Main activities will be carried out: Additional Bulgarian language training for students whose mother tongue is not Bulgarian; Preserving and developing the cultural identity of students in an integrative multicultural environment; Additional activities with students from ethnic minorities at risk of dropping out of school; Work with parents from ethnic minorities who prevent their children from regularly attending school; Overcoming the negative public attitudes based on ethnic and cultural identity. The project’s performance indicators for the product are: 108 students from ethnic minorities attending the school, involved in the measures for educational integration, and for the result - 90 students integrated in the educational system.
