We find the solutions together: educational integration in multicultural environment in Veliko Turnovo district

The project is 26 months initiative of Center Amalipe, Veliko Turnovo Municipality, 10 schools and Step by Step NGO. It aims to create comrehensive model for implementation of the municipal policies for educational integration in the municipalities of Veliko Turnovo District. It includes all stakeholders (schools, parents, municipal administrations) and combines activities at school, inter-school, municipal and district levels which aim to achieve: full attendence in school of children subject to compulsary education, introducing intercultural education, improving the quality of education, promoting education in ethnically mixed environment, supporting the education in secondary schools and engaging Roma parents. The approach combines school and inter-school intervention combined with additional methodological support and support for activating Roma parents. The activities planned include: creating support structures for educational integration; school activities for dropout prevention, activities for preserving and developing the cultural identity of students, support for education in ethnically mixed environment, activating and empowering parents, ensuring the sustainability of the model. The project will include over 760 students, of which 579 are from ethnic minorities. As a result, more than 530 minority students will be sustainably integrated into the education system. It will also include over 400 parents. The project provides targeted activities to create the necessary preconditions for the continuation and sustainability of the model as well as its application in new schools.
