"Ethnopalette"

The mail goal of “Ethnopalette” project is to encourage educational integration of students from ethnic minorities in Vassil Levski Primary School Kardjali. The specific objectives of the project are: 1)to create opportunities for mutual familiarization and teaching in the spirit of tolerance 160 students from all ethnic groups - Bulgarian, Turkish and Roma through studying their history, culture, manners and customs; 2)to involve parentsas partners in the educational integration process; 3)to guarantee equal access to qualitative education for 145 students from ethnic minorities; 4)to preserve and develop cultural identity of students from ethnic minorities. The objectives will be reached through these activities: Activity 1: Organization and management of the project; Activity 2: Selection of teachers and preparation of Ethnopalette Academy; Activity 3: Selection of students for participation in the Ethnopalette Academy; Activity 4: Ethnopalette Academy - functioning of 8 interest clubs; Activity 5: Involving parents in educational integration process. The project will attract parents as partners in the integration process through participation of 60 of them in 2 round tables. 40 parents will participate in 2 educational seminars for presenting the value of educational integration and accepting the differences. Activity 6: Ethnopalette Festival - the results of the club work will be shown; Activity 7: Information and publicity. The target groups of the project are: 145 students from ethnic minorities and 80 parents. It is expected that 80 per cent of the participants will be successfully integrated in the educational system and this will give them opportunity to become active citizens through full social, professional and creative realization. Their participation in the project will contribute for their socialization and will guarantee equal access to education in multicultural environment. The project duration is 15 months. Total project cost are 188 765.20 BGN.
