“Integrating students from ethnic minorities into the education system“

The implementation of the Integrating students from ethnic minorities into the education system project will enable the integration of ethnic minority students, incl. Roma students facing the risk of dropping out of the education system, by supporting their development as good citizens through measures targeting both students belonging to those groups and their parents with the purpose of increasing their interest and motivation to take part in the process of education. The need to integrate students from ethnic minorities is also determined by the great number of children belonging to vulnerable social groups who have or have not graduated elementary school but not attending classes, which is most typical for the Roma ethic group. The project major goal is to contribute to the integration of ethnic minority students, incl. Roma students facing the risk of dropping out of the education system, by supporting their development as good citizens by means of providing educational support aimed at their successful social adjustment and realization. The project implementation will enable disadvantaged ethnic minority students from vulnerable families facing the threat of dropping out of school to join various supplementary classes and activities aimed at complete adaptation and socialization. Another project target group will be ethnic minority parents who prevent their children from regularly attending classes. The project is intended to complete within 27 months and to include realization of activities related to additional classes and formation of shared interest groups. Integration of ethnic minority students facing the threat of dropping out of school through sports and outdoor activities. Activities related to students from different ethnic groups getting to know each other, preserving and developing their cultural identities, educating them in tolerance, creating conditions for successful socialization and overcoming negative social attitudes based on ethnic origin.
