The project will help students from ethnic minorities to build up their personality as complete citizens and to achieve successful social and creative realization through: improving conditions for equal access to school education, strengthening the motivation of students and parents to participate in the educational process at Secondary school “Hristo Botev” where students of Roma ethnicity are integrated, extracurricular activities with students for whom Bulgarian language is not native to compensate for gaps in learning process, mutual acquaintance of students of Roma ethnicity and teaching them tolerance, creating conditions for successful socialization of students from ethnic minorities, involving parents in educational process, overcoming negative public attitudes based on ethnic origin. This project aims to achieve significant and sustainable results in the field of educational integration within the school, the town and the entire municipality of Ihtiman. The project will be implemented by Secondary school “Hristo Botev” in partnership with the municipality of Ihtiman and Cultural Centre “Slantse – 1879”. The planned activities are – additional training in Bulgarian language for students for whom Bulgarian language is not native, additional activities with students who are in risk of dropping out of school, improving the learning environment at school, preserve and develop the cultural identity of students from ethnic minorities and their peers in integration multicultural environment, assessment of needs and encouragement of participation of parents in educational process, overcoming negative public attitudes based on ethnic origin and cultural identity, development and acceptance of municipal annual action plans in accordance with the regional strategy of integration of Roma people, information and publicity and organization and management.
