'Learning from the past, think about the future'

The actual project proposal of the Fifth Primary School “Hristo Botev” town Kyustendil is “We are learning from the past and thinking for the future”. Its purpose is to help the successful integration of pupils from ethnic minority and turn them into complete citizens in order to achieve their useful educational, professional, social and creative accomplishment in life. 52 gipsy children and 42 parents are participating in the project and 96 other pupils are taking part in extracurricular activities. Achieving real and durable results in educational integration of pupils from ethnic minority is necessary to upgrade and develop a working model , the use of which will give children the opportunities to continue their education at high schools, universities and to develop their talents. The project helps us to create a system for intelligent communication with parents that will consolidate the connection teacher-child-parent. The assistant teacher from the gipsy community has a key role in realization of the system as a mediator between school and family. Gipsy families are encouraging to be direct participants in school life and to help the educational process at school. The children’s achievements are improved and they are learning key competences in Bulgarian language. A favorable psychological environment is created at school with the help of psychologist. Tolerant communication trainings are carried out with the use of innovative technologies. We form sections named “Folklore, traditions and holidays”, “A movement – a way of life”, “Traditional and healthy nutrition”, “Our home –past, present and future” and they will help every child to develop its abilities and necessities. Project financing costs 118 122.06 leva. Project publicity activities are planned and considered with the requirements for information and communication 2014-2020.
