TOGETHER IN SCHOOL

Project "Together in School" is implemented by the Municipality of Lom in partnership with the Second Primary School "Konstantin Fotinov" and Association "School Board Phoenix". The target group of the project are 300 students from ethnic minorities in the municipality of Lom and from marginal groups and/or families seeking or enjoying international protection and 300 parents involved in activities aimed at strengthening the motivation to participate in the educational process and overcoming negative public attitudes based on ethnic origin. Participation in the activities will take more than 800 students from primary schools in the municipality of Lom. Within 33 months will be realized a set of activities that will lead to: - Reduced percentage of school dropouts from ethnic minorities; - Created conditions for further activities with children for whom Bulgarian language is not their mother; - Improving the learning environment in primary schools, where integrated students come from ethnic minorities as a precondition for ensuring equal access to education; - Changing the mindset of society into positive attitude towards pupils from ethnic minority groups; - Preserving and developing the cultural identity of ethnic minority children and their peers in a multicultural environment integration by creating workshops of interest; - Create conditions for ethnic tolerance among children by organizing joint initiatives on a local and national level and nurturing a spirit of tolerance. The project activities have both complementary and building effect compared to funded until now programs in the field of integration of pupils from ethnic minorities, which is a prerequisite for achieving sustainable results in the field of educational integration in the municipality of Lom and achieving the strategic goals set out in the Strategy for educational integration of children and students from ethnic groups, 2015-2020.
