Friends

The project meets the requirements of the present procedure under the "Science and education for smart growth" 2014-2020. It is in accordance with the Strategy for educational integration of children, students from ethnic minorities 2015-2020 and the programme of Kardzhali Municipality for educational integration of children and students from ethnic minorities / 2012-2015 /, which is an integral part of the Regional Strategy of Kardzhali district for integration of roma and disadvantaged people from other ethnic groups. In the project there are planned activities that create conditions for personal development of each participant, regardless of ethnicity or gender and for creation of an atmosphere of tolerance and understanding, which is in accordance with the above mantioned strategic documents. The project "Friends" is aimed at representatives of minority groups in 3 schools in the district of Kardzhali, for whom the Bulgarian language is not their native language and who are at risk of dropping out of school.The project aims at developing activities for work of students from different ethnic groups in various clubs to preserve and develop their cultural identity in a multicultural environment integration. The focus of the project is to strengthen the motivation for inclusion in the educational process of students from ethnic minority groups through recognition capabilities and their specific identity and via incentive to integrate actively participating in social and cultural initiatives at school and outside for bridging the gap between ethnic groups and overcoming negative public attitudes based on ethnic origin. As a result of the project the students from the target group will increase their confidence in their own abilities and knowledge, will learn and will be able to apply new communication and social skills that will help them fully integrate into the following degrees and have better social and personal realization.
