The project foresees activities that create conditions for personal development of each participant regardless of ethnicity or gender, for creation of an atmosphere of tolerance and understanding which is in accordance with the Strategy for Educational Integration of the children from ethnic minorities of the Ministry of Education 2015-2020. The Town of Strelcha is identified by its ethno-religious tolerance and it has realized a successful model for integration of the minorities. The project proposal is aimed at representatives of minority groups in two schools in the Town of Strelcha, for whom the Bulgarian language is not their native language and they experience difficulty in acquiring the curriculum. These children will be directed to additional classes in Bulgarian language and literature and mathematics in order to compensate for the gaps in these subjects and provide an opportunity to pass successfully in an upper stage of their educational process. The students which are in the seventh grade will be able to apply in high schools which will lead to their bringing out of the closed community. The aim of the project is to develop activities in the two schools so that the students from the two ethnic groups could work in various clubs with a view to preserve and develop their cultural identity in a multicultural environment integration. The project activities are carefully considered with increasing the motivation for taking part in the educational process of the students from ethnic minorities through the recognition of their skills and their specific identity and to encourage them to integrate and to participate actively in the social and cultural initiatives at school and outside it so as to overcome disparities between ethnic groups and surmount the negative public attitudes based on ethnic origin.
