‘Accept me’ - an interactive model of educational integration of students from ethnic minorities

The project meets the needs of social inclusion through educational integration of students from ethnic minorities with the participation of parents in the educational process in the municipality of Kavarna, Northeast region. The target area has a high percentage of people from ethnic minorities (Roma), marginalized groups, unemployment, increasing economic migration, children at risk. The project offers a range of activities and resources for further study of the Bulgarian language, preserving and developing cultural identity while promoting the participation of parents in the educational process. It has been developed in accordance with the priority axis.3 OP REIG to develop active learning environment for social inclusion by investment priority, "Socio-economic integration of marginalized communities such as the Roma" and under specific objective 1: Increasing the number of successfully integrated students and children from marginalized communities, including Roma through the educational system. The project aims to help students from ethnic minorities in Kavarna form themselves as citizens with knowledge and motivation to achieve professional, social and creative realization, according to the specific purpose of the procedure. It includes a model for educational integration at a maximum range of students from ethnic minorities subjected to mandatory school education in 5 schools - two elementary schools, two primary schools and one secondary. Two target groups are included - 334 students and 102 parents from ethnic minorities and for integration purposes, 107 other students and 40 parents who do not belong to an ethnic minority. Expected results: 281 students from ethnic minorities (84%) to be integrated through the educational system; 142 parents to participate in the active social integration and the educational process. There will be applied: integrated and multicultural approaches, partnership with schools and interested parties –Municipality, NGOs.
