Education for success

This project proposal aims to provide equal access to quality education, taking into account the variable social integration of different ethnic minorities and the need to implement targeted policy measures at local level to solve the problems in education. As a result, the project will create conditions for a successful educational integration of children of Roma origin in schools in Byala Slatina through mutual understanding, improved access to quality education, increased motivation to participate in the educational process and partnership between institutions in area of inclusive school, culture diversity and learning support. Target groups of the project are students from ethnic minorities and marginalized groups, and their parents. The planned project activities are: management of the project; information and publicity; additional training in Bulgarian language for students whose mother tongue is other than Bulgarian; intervention for helping students at risk of dropping out of school; preservation and development of cultural identity; support of students from ethnic minorities for successful completion of secondary education; encouraging the participation of parents in the educational process; working with minority ethnic parents that prevent children from regularly visiting school. The expected results of the project are: improved conditions for equal access to equal education; improved educational outcomes for minority students; mutual knowledge of students from different ethnic groups and education in a spirit of tolerance; created conditions for implementing a municipal policy for educational integration of children and students from ethnic minorities; increased motivation of parents to participate in the educational process.
