School of knowledge, traditions and unity

The project "School of knowledge, traditions and unity" is led by First elementary school "Nikola Parvanov" LOM, in partnership with the School Board "Enlightenment". The target group consists of 30 students from marginalized communities, including Roma and 15 parents who take part in activities related to equal access to quality education, strengthening the motivation for participation in the learning process, early integration into the education system and overcoming negative public attitudes, based on ethnic origin. Within 24 months will be implemented activities that will lead to: -quality education -social and educational integration -increase the motivation for learning the Bulgarian language, through additional activities with children whose mother tongue is not Bulgarian -conservation and development of the cultural identity of ethnic minorities and students from their peers in a multicultural environment, integration by creating interest clubs -improvement of the material conditions and the educational environment in which students from ethnic minorities are taught -creating conditions for ethnic tolerance among students, by organising joint initiatives at school, municipal and national levels The project will contribute to a significant strengthening of the partnership with the parents and will ensure their commitment and shared responsibility for the continuation of the project activities after the completion of the project. Activities are complementary to and building upon the effect of already funded programmes aimed at the integration of pupils from ethnic minorities, which is a precondition for achieving sustainable results in terms of integration of students from the First primary school "Nikola Parvanov" Lom.
