FOR NEW COMPETENCIES

The present project proposal envisages the use of complex innovative methods for the implementation of the Competency-based approach within the Beneficiary and its Partners aiming to enhance the quality of the school education, to increase the motivation among students and to reduce the number of those excluded or prematurely left the educational system. These goals will be achieved through expertise and infrastructure capacity building activities in the schools by creating an innovative methodological tool based on three key methods: 1) Coaching; 2) Montessori, 3) Emotional Intelligence Development, trainings of local teachers and purchase of didactic materials and equipment. On that basis, Interest Clubs will be established where students with educational difficulties will also be enrolled and will receive additional attention. By highlighting the strengths of everybody in an atmosphere of teamwork and support, those students will be encouraged to cease to perceive themselves as outsiders. Activities with another target group – parents and guardians – will also be held. They will be involved in the education process and will take part in coaching sessions to stimulate the creation of a pro-education environment. In order to promote communication and joint activities between children from marginalized and non-marginalized groups, open events involving parents and other representatives of the target groups will be organized during the school year and the summer holiday. The project will focus mainly on children from minority ethnic groups. However, some of the costs will be distributed to representatives of non-marginalized groups in order to achieve a broader integration effect. The project will be implemented in the city of Radomir and the villages of Dren and Izvor for the total amount of BGN 366 077,82, of which BGN 39 222,62 will be indirect costs.
