"FRIENDS - 2"

Project “Friends-2” provides sustainability and upgrades the achieved results in working in a multicultural environment in order to achieve educational integration of children and schoolchildren of marginalised communities, including Roma and their parents on the territory of Iskar municipality. A set of activities is being implemented to stimulate the development of the individual abilities, skills and knowledge for the development of children and schoolchildren in the future as full citizens.The implementation of the project improves the educational environment in the secondary school “Hristo Smirnenski” Iskar, kindergarten “Mara Baleva” Iskar and kindergarten “Shtastlivo detstvo” village Dolni Lukovit, ensuring equal access to quality education. New club forms, public events and joint events for integration of children, schoolchildren and parents are being implemented - aimed at the mutual acquaintance, promotion of cultural diversity and ethnic tolerance. The project offers new specialized services, stimulating the socialization and the educational integration. Joint activities are being held, forming motivation in parents to support children in the learning process. The implementation of the project adds value to the implementation of municipal policies in the field of educational integration, the Community-Led Local Development Strategy of the LAG “Karlukovski Karst - Cherven Bryag – Iskar”, Priority Axis 3 “Educational environment for active social inclusion”, Investment Priority (IP) 9.ii “Socio-economic integration of marginalised communities, such as the Roma community” of OP “Science and Education for Smart Growth”. The planned results correspond to the Specific Objective of OP “Science and Education for Smart Growth” under the Investment Priority 9.ii - improving the quality of educational services and improving access to education for children and schoolchildren from different marginalised groups, in small settlements and hard-to-reach areas.
