Effective educational interactions in multicultural enviroment

The project implementation will start with a study of the organizational climate and culture in the partnering kindergartens and schools, realized by Ethnotolerance NGO’s experts. The results will outline the strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and difficulties, related to the equal access to opportunities and participation of all students in the Bulgarian education system. Subject of assessment will be the interactions between the educational specialists and parents, children, other stakeholders, including representatives of the marginalized communities, the school board, and the public authorities board. This diagnostics will underlie the analytical report, tailored to each kindergarten and school, detailing guidelines for modification of the institutional strategy towards enhancing the intercultural sensitivity and competence of the educational specialists. The needs of specific trainings in the field of work in a multicultural educational environment will be identified depending on the linguistic, ethnic, religious and age features of the children and students from the partnering kindergartens and schools. The experts from Ethnotolerance will draft the timeline for organization of the trainings for educational specialists for work in a multicultural environment. Based on the needs analysis will be prepared the plan for the professional development and upskilling the educational specialists to work with children and students of different ethnic background. The schedule will be agreed with the principals and will include programmes, awarding credits to participants, delivered by the Faculty of Educational Studies and the Arts and the trainings without credits, delivered by Ethnotolerance to educational specialists and educational mediators.
