Improving the qualification of pedagogical specialists and training of educational mediators in 15 schools and kindergartens

The project "Improving the qualification of pedagogical specialists and training of educational mediators in 15 schools and kindergartens" lasts 24 months. The overall objective of the project is to create a positive educational environment for achieving successful educational integration of children and students whose mother tongue is not Bulgarian, in 15 schools and kindergartens in the municipalities of Asenovgrad, Stamboliyski, Sadovo and Pazardzhik. The specific objectives of the project are: 1. To develop and update strategies, plans, programs, analyzes, recommendations, competency profiles, etc. of 15 schools and kindergartens to work in a multicultural environment, according to their identified needs. 2. To increase the qualification of 262 pedagogical specialists and 11 mediators, through various forms of training, to work in a multicultural environment with a view to equal participation of all students in the Bulgarian educational system, increase the motivation to learn, including for learning the mother tongue, and supporting the cultural identity of children and students. 3. To create an appropriate socio-psychological climate in 11 schools and 4 kindergartens, where 2766 children and students are educated, of which 2337 from ethnic communities. The project proposal contributes to the achievement of Investment Priority: № 9ii "Socio-economic integration of marginalized communities such as Roma" and Specific Objective 1 to it: "Increasing the number of children and students from marginalized communities, including Roma, successfully integrated through the education system". The project will improve the provision of quality inclusive education, especially for Roma and other disadvantaged groups, in accordance with the Strategy for Educational Integration of Children and Students from Ethnic Minorities (2015-2020), the National Strategy of the Republic of Bulgaria for Roma Integration -2020) and the Action Plan for its implementation.
