Increasing the professional competencies of teachers and educational mediators from the municipalities of Omurtag, Tvarditsa and Nikola Kozlevo to work in a multicultural environment

The project aims to create the necessary conditions for raising the qualification and competencies of pedagogical specialists and educational mediators from educational institutions in 3 municipalities - Omurtag, Tvarditsa and Nikola Kozlevo to work in a multicultural environment.  The project will be implemented in partnership between the candidate Association Integro and 4 educational institutions - High School "Ts. Tserkovski", Nikola Kozlevo, High School "Neofit Rilski", Tvarditsa, Vocational School of Transport and Light Industry, Omurtag and Kindergarten "Happy childhood", town of Tvarditsa. Several types of activities are envisaged within the project: - Activities for analyzing the previous experience of educational institutions to work in a multicultural environment, identifying basic needs and requirements for improving the work in this direction and developing adequate strategies and plans to meet the identified needs. The activity will be performed by a team of external experts and educators from each partner. - Conducting a cycle of trainings to increase the competencies of teachers and educational mediators to work in a multicultural environment. The trainings will be conducted in a program that includes various topics to get acquainted with the cultural characteristics of different communities and the specific characteristics of children from vulnerable communities, to learn methods and approaches to work in a multicultural environment, the importance of emotional intelligence to improve interaction between teachers , children and their families, the role of empathy, as an opportunity to improve communication, the role of mediation to improve cooperation between school and community, etc. Trainings with 1, 2 and 3 credits are planned, as well as joint two-day trainings for teachers and educational mediators. -Activities to support pedagogues to acquire a higher professional qualification degree - taking fees and inclusion in preparatory courses.
