Providing assistance to vulnerable groups to reach the highest level of education

The project proposal meets the needs of greater representation of vulnerable groups in Bulgaria in higher education. Target groups of the project are: Students from vulnerable groups from the second high school stage of education from socially disadvantaged families; Parents of students from vulnerable groups from the second stage of high school education; Persons and young people from vulnerable groups with completed secondary education, without higher education, from socially disadvantaged families. The main goal of the project proposal is to improve the social integration of vulnerable groups from Vidin Municipality and Sofia Municipality by creating conditions for their transition from secondary to higher education. Expected results: - 120 identified and motivated persons from the target group; - 60 students from the second high school stage participated in additional training in subjects for taking DZI and applying to university; - Individuals were provided with individual assistance for participation in training for refreshing knowledge and updating competencies and for applying to universities. Basic activities: 1. Identifying and motivating the representatives of the target groups for completing secondary education and continuing education in higher education, including work with the parents of students from vulnerable groups; 2. Support for continuing education of the target groups in higher education through additional training of students from vulnerable groups of the second high school stage, in order to successfully pass the state matriculation exams under ZPUO (compulsory and additional matriculation exams) and apply to higher education ; 3. Support for further education of the persons from the target groups in higher schools by supporting the refreshing of knowledge and updating the competencies of persons and young people from vulnerable groups with completed secondary education for the purposes of their application for higher education.
