Let's Play and Learn Together

Let's Play and Learn Together Project aims at increasing the quality of early education and the number of children from marginalized groups integrated into the system of preschool education in the town of Lukovit and the village of Rumyantsevo. The project will pilot the program Element of PLAY in an entire kindergarten, incl. with its group in a village, and in a preschool group at a Primary School. The program has 3 modules: "Toy Library", "Music in Action" and "Tell the Tale", it is also targeted to parents, increasing their parental capacity and improving the skills for inclusive learning through play (Activity 1). Experts in early childhood development, with experience in working with marginalized groups especially with Roma parents from Lukovit, will adapt the program in accordance with parents' specific needs and resources. In addition to the three modules and the activities for involving parents, a new additional module on the topic of Environment will be developed (Activity 2 "Be ECO in the Play"). A total of 112 children aged 2-8 years will take part, forming 8 groups - 5 in the kindergarten "Chervenata Shaptchitsa" in Lukovit, 2 groups in the village of Rumyantsevo and one in the preschool group in the Primary school "Hristo Botev" in the village of Rumyantsevo. 73 of the children involved in the project belong to a marginalized group (Roma). More than 50 parents will take part in the activities, mostly in activity 3 "Let’s Play and Learn Together - activities for parents", 30 of them are from Roma minority. Sessions in the 8 groups will be implemented over a period of 2 years, including the summer months. Children and parents from non-marginalized communities will also be involved in the activities in order to promote social inclusion and improve communication among the kids and parents. The project results and effect will be disseminated using the websites of the two partner educational institutions, as well as through information events.
