"With us is interesting!" - extracurricular activities for the development of the 21st century skills and competences

The project is aimed at students from marginalized groups, incl. Roma, who are about 90% of the students in the primary school "Neofit Rilski" in the village of Dermantsi, and to their parents. The school will work with partners - Lukovit Municipality and the comunity center in the village of Dermantsi. The project will include the introduction of interesting and innovative educational activities and also activities during the summer months -together with parents. Six main activities in the project will take place after school. The activities will continue two school years and will cover 136 students from the school, over 80% are Roma.The activities are "Film Studio for the Development of Social and Emotional Skills", "Dance Magic" Club, "Chemistry is fun" Club, "Colorful World" Art Studio, Sports Club "Champion"and "Ecotourism and Environmental Protection" Club. Excursions, summer camps and a green school are planned for the students, during which there will also be classes. Club leaders will be teachers from the school. Some activities will be conducted by a Comunity center expert. It is planned to purchase materials for the activities, equipment for the movie club, sports equipment for the club, drawing equipment, chemicals for chemistry exercises. Two classrooms will be equipped - a film studio and a chemistry classroom, which will be used for the needs of the educational process in the future. Folk costumes will be purchased and accessories will be used in the future with the participation of students in various school and village celebrations. Each school year will end with final events involving students and parents. Some of the activities are for the first time, while others have an upgrading effect. The ecotourism activity will be implemented for the first time in the school and will aim at awareness of new models of behavior regarding the environment. All activities will contribute to overcoming educational difficulties. The project is 24 months.
