Windows to the world

The project brings together five organizations (3 NGOs, 1 training center and 1 IT company) in an attempt to transfer and build on the good experience of the pilot educational model "Windows to the world" implemented by QFoundation in the town of Samokov, providing training opportunities for over 300 students from different ethnic groups and ages. The project will identify 100 inactive young people from Roma communities in Pavlikeni and Gorna Oryahovitsa (Veliko Turnovo) cities, motivating them to take steps towards active involvement by choosing from the following options: to return to education, to sign for digital competences training in word processing or systematic programming, employment in the IT or the NGO sector. The identification activities that will be implemented within the project reflect the experience of Amalipe centre in projects aimed at the development of the Roma community in Bulgaria. The motivation activities are based on the global know-how of the JA network in developing skills for success among the youth. The digital competences training activity is in line with the European reference framework of key competences and the successful practices of QFoundation in this regard. The vocational education and training activities are organized in line with the national and European standards the RUVEX Vocational Training Centre has demonstrated in its educational portfolio. Among the main expected outcomes of the project are: - 25 young people from the target group to be motivated to enroll in employment offices; - 25 young people to apply for returning to education; - 15 young people to acquire a certificate of qualification in word processing, which will help them find employment; - 35 to engage in a 6-month employment opportunity, following digital competences and vocational trainings (30 - digital competences, 25 - word processing, 10 - systematic programming).
