"Baldis" Ltd. was established in 2009. Its main activity is the production and trade of textiles, exclusively socks. Since its establishment, the company specializes in the production of the so called "Norwegian socks" for foreign markets. The Company carries out its production in the town of Sliven, in a factory building with an area of 2000 m2. The average employee number of "Baldis" Ltd for 2012 and 2013, respectively was 53 and 52 people. Currently, the company employs 46 people, 41 of which in manufacturing. Due to the increased volume of orders and contracts with new customers, the company's management plans to expand the production capacity with purchase of state-of-the-art automated knitting machines, which will create new jobs for the stages of finishing - washing and packaging. On the other hand, according to "Regional Employment Service" – Burgas, number of registered unemployed population in the municipality of Sliven to 30.06.2015 is 7561, i.e. the unemployment rate is 14.32%. The latter indicator for the municipality unemployment is traditionally higher than the national average and during the reference month the unemployment rate in Sliven is 5.23 points higher than the national average. With the activities in the project, the company's main objective is to reduce unemployment in the region of Sliven by creating sustainable working positions. This will be achieved through employment of unemployed and inactive persons, half of which will be representatives of vulnerable groups in the labor market: young people up to 29 years old and unemployed persons with low level of education. Further, the company plans to purchase equipment (washing machine). Four of the positions created will be guaranteed for a period of at least another 12 months.
