Enhancing employee competitiveness via training in key competences

J and T Services Ltd. carries out business in the priority sectors of the economy and is among those companies, which successfully integrate on the global market, its services being entirely focused on international corporate customers. The company’s business requires that its employees are easily able to communicate with customers, with mastery of at least one foreign language being a prerequisite for their hiring.Proficiency in another language enhances the employee’s efficiency and productivity but practical experience indicates that job applicants proficient in two foreign languages are extremely rare. The issue is beyond the company – according to a recent study conducted by Eurostat, just 11,7% of Bulgarians aged 25 - 65 are proficient in a second foreign language. Lack of trained staff on the labour market forces employers to invest on their own in the training of their employees. Making use of the opportunity available under the current procedure, the company will arrange trainings to enhance the foreign language skills of 100 of its employees jointly with Avo-Bell Ltd. – an esteemed foreign-language training centre. In turn, Avo-Bell Ltd., in its capacity of employer, will involve in training 3 of its employees with secondary education attainment in a course on Digital Marketing. This is a new area of knowledge, which has evolved in result of the expansion of internet and technologies, where the number of trained staff on the labour market is also low. With the knowledge gained during the training course, the employees are expected to contribute to improvement of the organization’s online marketing. In result of implementation of the project, 93 of the persons involved in trainings are expected to successfully pass the courses, enhance their skills and qualifications and thus contribute to the solidification of their employing companies on their markets of operation, as well as enhance their own competitiveness on the labour market.
