New language skills, enhanced digital competence and professional qualification for better quality jobs at Sofiyska Voda AD.

The project aims at contributing to the satisfaction of the needs of employees of Sofiyska Voda for the acquisition of new knowledge and skills in the study of a foreign language, digital competence, as well as acquisition of a professional qualification. Investments in continuous education contribute to the increasing the ability of the employed persons to meet new requirements for the specific position and the incessantly changing responsibilities they are facing. The need of acquiring new foreign language skills will be resolved by the inclusion of 181 employees into English language training and 48 employees into French language training. The need of updating the digital competence of the target group of employees will be resolved via the training of 12 employees from the GIS department for working with the software application ArcGIS Pro and the training of 20 project managers from various departments for working with the software instrument MS Project. The need for 6 employees from the Non-regulated Business Dept. to acquire professional skills will be met through their involving in a training for acquiring part of the profession “Fitter of water supply and sewer networks”. All trainings will be assigned to external training organizations that will be selected by virtue of the PPA, therefore, the implementation of the activities will be preceded by holding procedures for the selection of contractor(s). The target groups include 267 employees with employment contract, whose duties concern the main activity of the company, and these groups are divided in 4 main directions – customer-oriented, operations and maintenance, general administration and special administration. The results from the implementation of the activities will be related to enhancing the knowledge and skills, as well as the professional qualification of the target groups of employees, which in its turn will contribute to enhancing the adequacy of their skills, efficiency and motivation to work.
