Promotion of Entrepreneurship in Vidin and Montana regions

Entrepreneurship is a way of uncovering sustainable jobs and increasing the overall level of employment in the economy. In Bulgaria, and in particular Vidin and Monatana districts, part of the Northwest region, which, according to EUROSTAT, is identified as the poorest region in the EU, this potential has not yet been fully exploited. In this connection, it is also the essence of the implementation of the project, namely through the financial support of OPHRD to motivate 200 persons (180 unemployed and inactive and 20 employees with business ideas) from regions Vidin and Montana to start their own business. The total number includes 80 youngsters up to 29 years of age, with no gender and ethnic limitation in view of respecting horizontal EU policies. The activities to promote entrepreneurship in the region are: 1. Information and motivation for development of own business activity 2. Providing training under key competence 7 "Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurship" to develop entrepreneurial, management, business knowledge and skills 3. Providing consultancy services to prepare for their own business and support activities As a result of these activities, 40 of the persons involved in the project envisage starting their own business. Acquired knowledge and skills, as well as training documents, will ensure that other people in the target group are more competitive on the labor market. The project is in line with the priority axis of the OPDHR on entrepreneurship support and is in line with the EU Entrepreneurship Action Plan 2020 to acquire business skills, key entrepreneurship competences and entrepreneurial mindset as well as reaching specific groups to start a business like women, young and older people. The implementation period of the project is 15 months and the rules for publicity and visualization will be observed throughout the term, highlighting the contribution of the European Union through the ESF to the implementation of the project activities.
