Promoting entrepreneurship in Northeast area - an incentive for economic growth and job creation in the districts of Shumen and Dobrich

This project proposal is aiming to ensure sustainable and qualitative employment in the districts of Shoumen and Dobrich as part of the Northeast region of Bulgaria by promoting entrepreneurial culture, the acquisition of entrepreneurial, managerial and business skills and providing targeted consultancy support for starting own business by unemployed, inactive and employed people, incl. unemployed and inactive young people under 29 years old and women. The project is implemented in the districts of Dobrich and Shumen, where there is a high unemployment rate, a high proportion of economically inactive and low entrepreneurial activity. These circumstances require the promotion of entrepreneurial activities and the establishment of new SMEs to engage the potential workforce into employment. The project envisages the implementation of targeted measures to build an entrepreneurial culture among the target groups and implementing innovative approaches to promoting entrepreneurship as an opportunity to provide sustainable and qualitative employment through self-employment. To overcome the identified challenges and needs of the target groups: the lack of suitably qualification, entrepreneurial, managerial and business skills and knowledge the project provides for a set of training and consulting services to assist target groups in the assessment and development of their entrepreneurial ideas, and hence the development of business ideas into viable plans needed for the realization of real economic activity. Given the identified problems related to difficult access to finance for start-ups, the project focuses firstly on providing training and consultancy services aimed at ensuring adequate funding sources, on the other hand - on the development of innovative business ideas through the acquisition of knowledge and skills for the implementation of ICT, innovation and networking.
