Entrepreneurship support in the County of Sliven

Entrepreneurship is an initiative, an independent activity of the citizens and their associations, which are characterized by such features as: business orientation, risk, property responsibility, decision-making autonomy, purposefulness, ability to start and to realize its own business. The most important feature of entrepreneurship is its focus on gaining value - both personal and public. Without it, entrepreneurship can not exist. SME-s employ over 50% of the total labor force and produce between 1/2 and 2/3 of total annual turnover in different European countries. The fact is that small businesses are the rule in Europe, not an exception. Their significance is immense and its underestimating leads to catastrophic consequences for the economy and society. Almost 99% of all businesses in Europe are small and medium-sized enterprises. The typical European enterprise of the entrepreneur is a micro-business with 3 employees. The average size of the enterprise is 5 employees (including owners). They are an important source of job creation, economic efficiency and competitiveness, a generator of innovations and well-being, a foundation of civil society, freedom and democracy, a basis for Europe's social and local integration. Precondition for a successful economic policy and for sound economic and political decisions about small businesses is the knowledge of the history and essence of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial practice and culture. Recognizing the importance of entrepreneurship for the modern economy, the project proposal will train 100 people in the Sliven District, who will receive entrepreneurial, management and business knowledge and skills. At least 25 of them will be assisted in the development of business ideas and business plans for self-management.
