Training for successful development

The implementation of the project proposal is of absolute necessity for the persons employed by the "St. Cyril and Methodius" National Library because it is aimed at solving a significant problem for them - increasing the ability of the employees to meet the constant changes in the labor market and the current needs of the library. In order to increase adaptability to changing living and working conditions, and in line with the needs and occupation of each of the individuals involved in this project, there is a need to provide training on key competencies, in particular, English language training. The need to provide training on key competencies is high because many employees do not have the necessary knowledge of English. In addition to ensuring normal communication between employees and foreigners, the need to provide training is also essential for introducing all the innovations brought on by their colleagues from partner libraries around the world in order to exchange best practices and different methods, both for restoration of paper assets and for preserving written cultural heritage. During the implementation of this project, 115 employees will undergo training for KC 2 "Communication in foreign languages", as a result of which their adequacy and skills will be increased in line with the library's current needs. This, in turn, will increase labor productivity, creating conditions for sustainable employment and the employability in better quality jobs. Providing appropriate skills and competencies are fundamental to retaining and enhancing career development opportunities for employees. None of the employees included in this proposal has completed the planned training on another project or program funded under the HRD OP, the state budget or any other public source.
