SHORT-TERM EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

The purpose of project „Short-term employment support in response to the COVID-19 pandemic” is to provide support to enterprises and self-insured persons whose economic activity is directly affected by the adverse impact of the state of emergency imposed in the country, declared by a decision of the National Assembly of March 13, 2020 caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The project aimes at overcoming and limiting the negative socio-economic consequences of the pandemic. It will provide an opportunity to implement short-term employment support, through which employers and self-insured persons directly affected by the state of emergency will receive funds to maintain the employment of those at risk of dismissal as a result of unfavorable business development and reduced sales revenue. The target group of the project is employees in enterprises, incl. self-insured persons. In order to achieve the goal of the project, the following activity is envisaged: Support for employers and self-insured persons through compensations of part of the salary and insurances at the expense of the employer in order to maintain the employment of employees and workers in enterprises operating in the economic sectors in an act of the Council of Ministers and who have declared and proved a decrease in sales and in sales revenue, in accordance with the requirements of the legislation. The compensation is in the amount of BGN 290 per month for each employed person, receiving remuneration under an employment contract or a self-insured person. Along with the above-mentioned direct activity, the project will also implement activities for information and communication and for organization and management of the project.
